Among our new releases, this cuvée comes from Jurançon noir

We were forbidden to include the official grape variety name on the label, to avoid any confusion with Jurançon (as if a red wine could ever be confused with a sweet wine). So, we decided to call it Dame noire, its official synonym. Only 450 bottles produced. Jurançon noir is a productive grape variety with a modest reputation. Yet it is a variety that surprised us and continues to surprise us. Our Graves soils must surely contribute to giving it substance and concentration! In 2021, it was the only one among all our planted varieties that gave us a harvest worthy of the name. That certainly explains why it found favour with so many winegrowers in the 19th century. Food for thought at a time when we suffer frost almost every year. We will definitely be replanting more of it in the coming years!
