Growth is rapid, very rapid on the vines (here on a young Merlot vine)
Budburst is even, magnificent.
We are now hoping very hard that frosts will not take us by surprise next Thursday and Friday. Forecasts are flirting dangerously with 0 and that is never good news.
At this stage, it could cause a great deal of damage.
And today (Saturday) the thermometer rose to 29.2, which will only accelerate growth.
There is water in the soil and heat. The vines love it!
