The red section eliminates berries that are too small and unripe. On the blue section, ripe berries drop down before being conveyed into the vat by the inclined elevator belt. We still have a few adjustments to make to fine-tune the sorting. Petioles are removed by the belt, though a few still slip through. In short, this is our first real harvest and we still have things to improve. In any case, a very healthy crop this year. We start on Thursday with hand-harvesting the Malbec, followed by our best Merlot plots on Friday, also hand-harvested.
