This year, no or very little coulure on our vines, even on sensitive grape varieties like Merlot

On the other hand, a bit of millerandage, especially on the old vines.
Do you know the difference between coulure and millerandage?
We speak of coulure when flowering has gone poorly, that is to say when the flower has not been fertilised and will therefore not produce fruit.
Millerandage, however, is when fertilisation has taken place, but the grape was poorly fertilised. The berry will remain stunted (you can already see it at this stage). In fact, it often has no pips.
