Les Galets de Cazebonne: the mineral expression of an exceptional terroir

An iconic cuvée from our estate

At the heart of our single-vineyard range, at the crossroads of authenticity and innovation, lies "Les Galets de Cazebonne". This cuvée is a true tribute to the land from which it takes its name and unique character. It comes from an iconic parcel of our estate, the very one whose richness and history gave our property its name: Cazebonne.

It perfectly illustrates our plot-by-plot philosophy: exploring the nuances of our vineyard to craft wines with assertive personalities. Each parcel tells a story—that of Cazebonne and its deep roots.

The imprint of the vintages

Each vintage of "Les Galets de Cazebonne" is the product of a singular year, whose climatic conditions shape the character of the wine. Variations in rainfall, sunshine, and temperature influence the ripeness of the grapes and, consequently, the structure and aromas of the cuvée. Through sustainable viticulture, we strive to guide the vines so they best express the specificities of the year, offering a unique experience with every tasting.

The Graves terroir: a geological singularity

This exceptional terroir is characterised by its "Graves profondes" (deep gravels), soils composed of rounded pebbles and gravels once deposited by the Garonne. This geological distinction imparts a distinctive minerality and singular elegance to our wines. It is within this matrix that our vines draw their strength, yielding grapes whose concentration and aromatic complexity directly reflect this unique soil. This deep, free-draining soil promotes deep rooting, enhancing the vines' resilience to climatic hazards and concentrating the aromas.

Meticulous craftsmanship, from vineyard to cellar

For "Les Galets de Cazebonne", our viticultural and winemaking practices are guided by listening to the terroir. We seek to reveal the pure expression of these Graves soils with finesse and precision. Every stage, from organic vine cultivation to ageing in the cellar, is designed to enhance what nature offers without ever masking its intrinsic character. We favour gentle red winemaking, often with wild yeast fermentations, and careful ageing to refine the tannins and build complexity.

An elegant and complex tasting profile

The result is a wine of great depth, combining freshness, an elegant tannic structure, and remarkable aromatic length—the signature of the fine wines of Cazebonne. The nose reveals red and black fruit aromas, often with spicy and mineral notes typical of the terroir. On the palate, the wine delivers a lovely fruit expression supported by silky tannins and a long, refreshing finish. It is a wine that marries power with elegance, possessing definite ageing potential.

Food and wine pairing suggestions

"Les Galets de Cazebonne" pairs ideally with grilled or roasted red meats, game, and mature cheeses. Its structure and minerality also make it an excellent companion for braised dishes or hearty winter stews. Do not hesitate to serve it alongside duck breast or a rack of lamb to bring out all its flavours.
