And it is magnificent this year. It is the backbone of our Comme en 1900 cuvée. Truly a great grape variety distinguished by the finesse of its tannins, by its acid/sugar balance. It remains to be seen now which other grape varieties we will blend with it: Castets (most certainly), Saint-Macaire (also), Carménère?, Petit pejac?, Petit verdot? Everything will depend on the quality of the grapes we bring in over the next two weeks. And the forecast rain could well trigger the harvest! In short, we should produce a very fine 2022 vintage.
