There was a sharp nip in the air yesterday morning
Just as well: the vines need the winter cold. It will deal a blow to the vine's fungal enemies, which will inevitably try to develop in spring. It is also a signal for the vine, which will definitively cut off the flow of sap for the winter, allowing us to prune in peace and preventing pruning wounds from causing trunk diseases.
