We went to taste Loïc Pasquet’s (Liber Pater) 2018 forgotten grape varieties directly from the amphorae

The juices are impressive: the Mancin (Tarnay) are remarkably chiselled, sustained by a fine acidity and intense black fruit. The Saint-Macaire are explosive, chocolaty on the nose and packed with red fruit on the palate (raspberry, blackcurrant). The Castets are powerful, tannic and complex. The Petit Verdot are beautifully ripe and expressive. The Cabernets deliver great tannic finesse with moderate acidity.
The blend of all this promises to be explosive. We cannot wait to taste ours at Cazebonne. But we will have to be patient just a little longer.
