I want itJean-Baptiste Duquesne

Jean-Baptiste Duquesne is the proprietor of Château Cazebonne, an estate located in the Graves region in Saint-Pierre-de-Mons. He is also the author of the book "Bordeaux, une histoire de cépages", a work that testifies to his profound knowledge of and attachment to the viticultural heritage of the Gironde.
His career path is characterised by various experiences in the wine world and digital entrepreneurship. He began his career in the mid-1990s by creating and developing a wine trading company (maison Valade-Transandine), positioning it in the import of New World wines.
A little later, he launched the online wine sales website 75cl.com, then 750g.com, with his brother Chef Damien. The cooking recipe website was sold in 2016 to the Media Webedia group, which finally allowed him to fulfil his dream: to take over a wine estate to make wine.
It was in 2016 that Jean-Baptiste Duquesne acquired Château Cazebonne, a 40-hectare property. Upon settling in, he showed a keen interest in Bordeaux's ancient grape varieties, considering that it is never in vain to look to the past to build the future. This work is part of a broader initiative by winemakers who are replanting forgotten grape varieties, seeking to rediscover lost ampelographic diversity.
40 grape varieties (soon to be 70) have already been replanted on the estate, meaning that Cazebonne today possesses the largest conservatory of Bordeaux grape varieties.
Jean-Baptiste Duquesne's philosophy goes beyond simple replanting. It embodies a reflection on the identity of Bordeaux wines in the face of current challenges. He questions industrial practices and promotes a more authentic approach, in line with organic and biodynamic principles, far removed from "Canada Dry" certifications. His objective, shared by the Cazebonne team, is to offer wines that reflect the richness and singularity of their terroir, while adapting to the expectations of today's consumers.
