The planting was a success. The vines have put down their first roots. All that remains is to earth up the soil, ready to uncover it in spring. In doing so, we will trim the surface roots, encouraging the vine to dig deeper. The work carried out during a vine's first years is essential for its longevity and the quality of future grapes.
